What are orthotics?

Orthotics are devices which can be worn on any part of the body to correct biomechanical problems without the need for surgery. Every patient is different but in many cases orthotics will relieve pain, provide support and improve movement and function.

Some of the most common types of orthotics are insoles or pads which are inserted into footwear to restore natural foot function and treat a number of problems including arthritis, flat feet and over-pronation. These specialist devices will help realign your foot and ankle bones and get them working in the way they are designed to. This can make a massive difference to your everyday life and can also help alleviate aches and pains elsewhere in your body caused by an irregular walking pattern.

Uses of Orthotics

Orthotics can also include specialist footwear, braces and ankle supports as well as items like slings, collars, corsets and wrist supports. Many of the items manufactured by Taycare Medical at our factory in Leeds are custom-made to fit an individual’s exact measurements and provide a bespoke solution to the problem they are experiencing. We also produce some stock items for those who need them as well as carrying out repairs to orthotics to ensure they are performing exactly as they should. WE ALSO WORK WITH A RANGE OF TRUSTED SUPPLIERS FOR OUR STOCK ITEMS.
